Systems Administration Suite
There are four modules within this suite which have been designed to help prepare students to take Microsoft's external MCSA exams.
FIT103 / XIT103 - Hardware and Operating System Essentials
To help students acquire both the knowledge and skills associated with both hardware and operating system aspects of a modern computer system. In addition, This Module helps prepare students for CompTIA A+ exams (Core Hardware and Operating System Fundamentals), part of the externally validated accreditation by CompTIA and recognised by Microsoft as part of the optional requirements for an MCSA elective. The course also includes installation and configuration of an Open Source desktop and server operating system in part preparation for CompTIA Server+ exam.
FIT104 / XIT104 - Client Operating System
To help students acquire the knowledge and skills to deploy and support a Client Operating System in a variety of stand-alone and network environments. It addition, this module helps prepare students for one of Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA) exams, part of the externally validated accreditation by Microsoft Corporation.
FIT205 / XIT205 - Managing a Network Environment
To help students acquire both the knowledge and skills associated with managing a network environment. Includes administering users, groups, organisational units in Active Directory, network resources, terminal services as well as monitoring, optimizing and troubleshooting server performance. In addition, this module helps prepare students for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA) exams, part of the externally validated accreditation by Microsoft Corporation.
FIT206 / XIT206 - Maintaining a Network Infrastructure
To help students acquire both the knowledge and skills associated with maintaining a network infrastructure. Includes DHCP, DNS, network security, IPSec, routing and remote access. In addition, FIT206 helps prepare students for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA) exams, part of the externally validated accreditation by Microsoft Corporation.
